Luis Caputo spoke to business leaders and recommended they "start billing in dollars."

On Friday the 30th, Economy Minister Luis Caputo participated in an event organized by the Federalism and Liberty Foundation, an organization that seeks to promote the liberal agenda in Tucumán and that has previously enjoyed the support of several La Libertad Avanza officials. Businesspeople from various sectors participated in the meeting, to whom he shared his plans for the coming months and asked them to put their dollars into circulation to boost the economy.
During a summit of the Federalism and Liberty Foundation in Tucumán, the Treasury Secretary praised the economic order and reiterated his call for automakers to sell cars in dollars, a request he also echoed to the business leaders gathered at the event. "Regarding dealers starting to invoice in dollars, it's logical that remonetization will occur with this currency because there are almost 10 times more dollars than pesos ," Caputo stated.

"When the macroeconomy isn't in order and there's no good engine, no matter how many pesos you inject into the system, there will always be surplus. Now, with an orderly macroeconomic system, businesses and the public are beginning to demand pesos, either genuinely or through credit," Caputo explained, adding that given the current state of the macroeconomic system, the government could, if it wished, establish a convertibility rate below $1,000 without fear of the dollar skyrocketing.
From the Sheraton Hotel in the capital of Tucumán, Caputo elaborated: "Today, the amount of pesos I was talking about is very low, and we still have enough currency to continue growing, but eventually, if we don't manage to further re-monetize the economy and get more money circulating, there will come a time when we will run out of gas." In this regard, Caputo promised a tax cut for the private sector if the country grows as the government expects. The minister estimated that the Executive Branch could return approximately $500 billion with the tax cuts.
To close his address at the summit, the Treasury Secretary called on business leaders to put their dollars into circulation. "Today, keeping money in a mattress or safe deposit box is a very bad business. There are almost 10 times more dollars than pesos in the country; remonetization will be done with dollars," Caputo emphasized, adding: " This is important because there won't be any room for any exchange rate shocks like the ones they always expected. The model is designed to prevent this from happening ."
